At the time of booking your flight, inform the Call Centre agent that you wish to take your bike to Cape Town. Remember that you can call our Call Centre at any time to add your Bike to your flight booking by dialing 08611 CYCLE (08611 29253).
We will fly your bike at a cost of R195.00 one way to and from Cape Town. This charge is over and above your airfare.

YOUR BIKE ON OUR AIRCRAFT
Here are some tips to ensure your bike touches down as safely as it took off:
- Bikes must be securely packed. Special boxes or bags are obtainable from most bike outlets. Please make use of this type of packaging as it prevents your bike from possible damage. Kindly ensure that the box or bag is clearly marked with your name, contact details, flight number and Mango booking reference number.
- Turn handlebars parallel with the frame, remove pedals or turn inward, deflate tyres and put the seat down.
- Remove and transport all electronic equipment separately.
- Please note that CO2 ‘bombs’ (compressed air cartridges) are considered ‘Dangerous Goods’ and are not allowed on the plane, neither as part of check-in luggage or hand luggage or in the cargo compartment with your bike. We strongly recommend you arrange for an additional supply at your destination.
- All bikes will be subject to a security check. We suggest you ensure that you have keys to unlock all bags and boxes and bring sufficient tape to securely tape-up your bike once the security check is completed.
- Under no circumstances will wheels, rims, frames and any other equipment not complying with the IATA hand luggage dimensions and weight allowances be stowed on board the aircraft. No exceptions will be entertained.
- Sadly, we can’t guarantee your bike will be carried on the same flight as you. Also please note that it takes up to four (4) days for the bikes to be shipped from Cape Town back to the various destinations. Mango requests your patience in this regard. Do NOT travel long distances to collect your bike unless you received confirmation from the Mango staff that your bike has arrived. This will be done by way of sms or a call to inform you that your bike is ready for collection.
- No bikes will be accepted unless proof of payment has been verified.
- Ensure that you obtain a baggage claim tag (Limited Release Tag) at time of presenting your bike to Mango.
- Kindly confirm that all the required details are correctly indicated on the claim tag as no bikes will be released at the collection point without presentation of the tag.
- Kindly note that Mango accepts no liability for loss or damage to any bike, spares or equipment in part or whole, in accordance with our General Conditions of Carriage for Passengers and Baggage.
