Getting to the Airport

Now that you know where we take-off from, how do you get there?  There are a number of options, namely:

- drive yourself

- catch a taxi

- Use a shuttle / airport transfer service that collects you from your home to the airport (approximately R200/person)

- get a lift from a friend and get dropped off at the Domestic Departures zone

Mango Check-in

Checking-in

The Mango check-in counters are situated in the Domestic Departures area of the airport.  Look for the orange Mango boards and our friendly Mango staff dressed in orange shirts and grey uniforms.  Please remember that in order to check-in you need to have proof of payment for the booking, your ID book and a print-out of your actual booking with the reference number displayed. For security reasons luggage is checked before it is stowed on the plane for your journey.  You will be asked at the check-in counter if you are carrying anything on behalf of anyone else and whether you packed your own luggage. Once you have checked-in at the check-in counters you will be given a boarding pass and will be able to go through airport security to the boarding gates.

Security

After you have been issued with your boarding pass you will be required to pass through a security check point. You will need to show your boarding pass. Place your hand luggage onto the x-ray conveyer belt to have it scanned. Take out the contents of your pockets and place in the trays and pass it through the X-ray machine as well. It is perfectly safe to put cameras, cellphones and any other electronic machines through the X-ray machine. Please note: it is against the law to take anything dangerous on board an aeroplane. You will not be allowed to take knives, guns, scissors or anything else that could pose a danger to the safety of the crew or fellow passengers
